DAVID ROBERTS was born in Liverpool. He studied Fashion Design and went to work as a fashion illustrator in Hong Kong and a couture milliner in England before becoming a full-time illustrator. He has now illustrated over 30 children’s books. David lives in London.

What do you love most about your big sister?
She’s so easy to play tricks on!

What’s your favourite snack?
Cheese and crisps

What was the best trump you’ve ever done and where did you do it?
On an escalator in a posh shop with a long line of people behind! Tee hee!

We think your dog is great – what’s his name?
I’ll ask him

Where’s your favourite place in the world and why?
My back garden, coz there’s loads of slugs and worms and creepy crawlies to hunt for. There is even a toad!

What’s your favourite book?
Any book about me

What’s it like to be famous?
Rubbish. I still don’t get to stay up late!
